1 am

Well hello there friends! I hope your holiday season was splendid, and this cold season finds you healthy. (As I listen to the boys coughing up what can only be described as an African sized lugie). I'd love to say not much is going on in our household, but that would be a lie. We've been so busy it is crazy!
Madysen and I took a girls weekend and went to Denver for MLK Day. A quick trip to take Uncle Jim some coffee and a long trip to the zoo, our weekend was perfect. I miss just is girls Madysen loved all the attention, and especially loved my letting her pick out whatever toys she wanted from the gift shop. A toy for herself, one for each brother, one for dad, a mood ring and silly straw cup later, the shopping totaled $100. Ouch right?! But in the end, can you really put a price on the happiness and smiles I saw that weekend? I didn't think so either!
Last week we ventured out and took the boys to heir first basketball game (mainly because I won tickets). What a mess! Brooks liked it, just sat with Aunt Jamie and watched the girls play. Bode on the other hand, cried most of the game! I took to walking around the arena so he'd stay calm. The mess came when everyone stopped us to see the boys. Yet another reason why we just stay at home. The questions, the comments. Again, I do understand it's natural to be curious about twins, but really "you have your hands full!" does not help me. My kids are screaming, my patie cs is thin, I want to go back home where I can sit in my sweats and know I'm not facing a firing squad. I think he statement that bothers me the most is "I FINALLY get to see them!" Yes, you DINALLAY get to see them because my husband FINALLY has nights off. There is no humanly way I can take all three monsters out in public by myself. And I don't intend to any time soon. So I get that you feel left out because I'm not brave or patient enough to venture out on my own, but just come to my house some morning and see what a production it is with all here monsters.
With that said, the boys have stopped coughing so I can go back to sleep (and I wonder why I'm now sick!). Here's hoping the antibiotics work soon, I'm not sure I can handle the African sized lugie they are both trying to dislodge. If I don't see you all, have a good Valentines Day (even though I hate that day, it does warm my heart to see Madysen get so overjoyed when I send her flowers).
Until next time,
SH
