Post travel and holidays here's my weekly It's ok!
It's Ok To:
-still love Christmas but be burnt out from the 4 day endeavor that has become my holiday
-be anxious about having twins
-be angry at those who are already making plans for me and my kids. That's not your decision, it's mine.
-want to say "fuck off" to those who say "twins are so hard," maybe it was for you. If that's the case, don't say that to others. Offer advice, not doubts.
-to also be a little angry at those who take something and make it all about them
-spend hours hanging out with a bestfriend, even if you don't really do anything
-watch my 3 year old and wonder where her energy comes from. I'm exhausted just watching her!
-have been home for 5 days yet still live out of a suitcase. Just haven't found the motivation to put things away yet.
-be super excited about my new phone. Coming next week!
-find great satisfaction in keeping the sexes a secret (when we find out)
-have a slight feeling of calming by doing this again.
See you next week!

It's Ok Thursday-A Day Late
It's Ok to:
-get rather cracked up at people who get angry when they do something wrong (i.e. walking out in front of traffic, in the dark, while wearing a black coat, then getting angry when I obey MY traffic signs-he had the stop sign, I will admit that I did not come close to hitting him)
-get bothered by those who do not obey traffic signals. The shiny stop sign does apply to pedestrians and bicyclists
-jump on the I Hate the Kardashians bandwagon. I'm still trying to figure out what their talents are.
-be super excited about my 10 day excursion to Texas, peace out L-town!
-wonder why I've never watched certain series until now: including How I Met Your Mother, Sex and the City, Castle etc
-think, no matter how awful it may be, that Michelle Duggar needs to stop having children. 19 is enough, ah screw it, 8 would have been enough
-have a hard time keeping a secret I decided would be secret
-have to constantly remind myself that I will not loose weight/get toned in a week, must keep swimming, must keep swimming
-be super excited that students are gone for a month, hello peace and quiet!

To my 18 year old self
A while ago I did a "letter" to my 16 year old self. After some recent events, I decided that I needed to a letter to my 18/19 year old self, mainly because one of my best friends has needed some "inspiration" lately. So here it goes:
Dear 18/19 year old me,
Congratulations, you have graduated high school. A place you loathed for many years due to its cliques, fat jokes, and all around anger. While I choose not to dwell on that place for too long, I want you to know this: don't judge others based on what your friends say. If you made friendships based solely on what your friends think, you would end up a very lonely person. Lindsey ends up becoming a dear friend who helps you tremendously in 4 years and Rebecca becomes someone who can share everything with. Trust your gut, not what others tell you.
Secondly, don't become so over involved with boys. The one you love isn't going anywhere. It's fun, shiny and new, but don't leave your friends just because of him. Car ends up becoming one of your best friends whom you have some incredibly good times with, even though you pour yourself in to a relationship.
You do have to go to class in order to be successful. It isn't like high school where you could skate by and still get good grades. And while we're at it, those poor grades haunt you throughout your entire academic career. Stop drinking and start studying.
Quit being the obnoxious girl at hockey games. No one likes her, I promise. You just look like an idiot.
Clothes and brand names do not prove you are a better person. Good people like others based on personality, not by the materialistic goods you seem to spend money on.
Go to the gym, everyday. It makes your life so much easier when you're older.
Be nice to your sister. She really does become your best friend. Help her enjoy her last years of high school, and remember to let her live in her own mistakes. Be there to support her when things go badly.
Don't make someone a priority when they make you a convenience. This includes friends. If you're the one constantly making plans here's a newsflash: they don't care about you. This applies to friends you've had for a long time. It isn't worth the anger to be friends. Even if they ignore you when they see you. That's not the definition of true friendship.
The next few years will be fun for you, enjoy them, but not too much!

Thursdays It's Ok!
It's ok to...
-think graham crackers are pretty darn great
-use my grandma's moster's-hate-flowers reasoning as an excuse to buy myself pretty flowers bi-montly (Madysen's just a cover up)
-have and one great Thanksgiving, even if all my family wasn't together
-hate cancer. Hate, hate, hate cancer. Saying goodbye to people I love is getting old pretty quickly
-have found a new love in yoga. My bum hasn't been this sore in a while
-think that a VERY snowy 5am is too early to get up and do said yoga
-with that said, it's ok to hit the snooze button for an hour (ok, 90 minutes)
-consider throwing the majority of the nicknacks that have collected dust in our house out, it's a cleansing process
-be super excited that I can get a new phone in 27 days
-want to throw my BlackBerry against the wall, POS hasn't worked in a few weeks
-do the right thing, even when it hurts, even when it's hard
-be super excited about the XBox with Kinect, these fitness games actually do work up a sweat
-want to celebrate my first semester of Grad school is officially finished
